Using QT Broadcaster
When using the V2_ streaming platform, you will receive a username and password to connect to the Darwin streaming server. One of the applications to encode your stream is Apple's Quicktime Broadcaster (an alternative would be Wirecast).
The most important settings to get Broadcaster working correctly with the V2_ streaming platform are:
- In the "Network" tab, under "Show Details":
- Transmission must be set to "Automatic Unicast".
- Host name must be set to "darwin.v2.nl".
- File must be set to "username/filename". The left hand side must be the username, the right hand side may be anything of your choice. The filename extension must be removed.
- Username and password must be set to whatever you were provided.
- Buffer Delay must be left empty.
- Broadcast over TCP should be set off initially. If you are experiencing connectivity problems due to, for example, a firewall issue, you may try to set this option.
- In the "Video" tab:
- Width and Height should be set to 320 and 240 pixels.
- Compressor should be set to H.264.
- Depth should be set to Color.
- Quality should be set to Medium.
- Frames per second should be set to 25.
- Key frame should be set to every 50 frames.
- Limit data rate should be set to 512 kbit/sec.
The stream will become available at the address:
rtsp://darwin.v2.nl/username/filename.sdp
